Most people have already had their say on the gorgeous turn out at the Met Gala this year. Being late into the blogging scene i’ve neglected to have my, all be it far from ground breaking, two cents on the matter. I stayed up to catch the hashtags on US time, and it was well worth it. Some of the event’s show-stoppers go without saying, the gorgeous girls of Topshop, Kendall Jenner included!
While Taylor Swift embodied effortless glamour, Beyoncé exhibited mature perfection. Despite her newly revealed family scrapes she stepped out on the red carpet untainted and statuesque, glistening in black Givenchy. Emma Stone looked pretty, if not too plain, in her summer inspired statement. However, for me this year it was all about the underdog – not that any of Hollywood’s A-listers really fit snugly into that mundane category. Where eyes were drawn, as they always are, to Cara – mine were firmly on Suki. And where the twittasphere was going mad for Lively I was focused on another Gossip Girl.
Leighton Meester was the first celeb to get me really excited about the amazing pieces – her vintage inspired draped sequin number had her literally dripping in gold – and elegance. She looked stunning, and effortless, couture and quirky – it, to me, was a dream.
Suki Waterhouse was stunning in a cascade of Burberry that had Fashion Police ruffled. The overall consensus, the model outdid most of the highly anticipated house hold names in this stunning twist on a simple silhouette.
That’s my say on the stunning event that was the Met Gala 2014
